THERESA and LARRY
thank you for the opportunity to share a little bit of information about our family.
We’re excited for you to see who we are, where we live, how we live and our hopes for expanding our family of four. Our family includes Theresa (mom), Larry (dad), Bennett (older brother), and Emerson (younger brother). Our family also includes two pets - Emily the beagle dog and Bacon the cat. We are a Catholic family that lives in Kansas. We have many extended family members who also call Kansas home and live within an hour of us. All are looking forward to a new family member to love and with whom to celebrate birthdays, holidays and family traditions.

About us
We went to high school together. Theresa was a freshman when Larry was a senior. He had no idea who Theresa was, but many years later, when social media emerged, we connected online.
After a short time, Larry moved from Oregon, and Theresa moved from California to return to their home state of Kansas to get married and raise a family. We are a caring couple that values patience, love, humor and compassion. We are also gold-medal champions at miniature golf.

About BENNETT
Bennett, (9), has a great sense of humor and a wonderful, compassionate heart. He enjoys baseball, soccer and golf. He’s got quite the imagination, and he can’t wait to have a sister.
About EMERSON
Emerson, (3), can also be really funny. He loves and looks up to Bennett. He enjoys Paw Patrol, Blippi, lots of hugs and kisses, and dancing. He also enjoys giggling at our pets and he can’t wait to have a little sister to play with.
Our loved ones
Larry’s family lives in Topeka. They include his dad, his step-mom, his mom, two sisters, a brother-in-law and nieces and a nephew. Because they live nearby, we are able to visit often. They are also excited for a new family member.
Theresa’s family lives throughout northeast Kansas and includes her mom, and her three brothers. She has mostly nephews on this side of the family. The first girl was born in January 2020. The boys range in age up to 12. Her mom is the oldest of 12.
and our home
We were born and raised in Topeka, Kansas. Both of us lived out of state briefly, but we returned to our home state to start a family and be close to relatives. We live in a two-story, newer home in the Kansas City area.
Our quiet neighborhood has lots of young families, nature trails and annual activities. We have access to great schools and other resources. Our adopted daughter will have her own room just down the hall from us.

What we love to do for fun
We love to spend time on the weekends going to sporting events, like soccer, baseball, basketball and golf. We also look forward to annual out-of-state vacations. We recently visited California to check out LEGOLAND and Disneyland. Within the next few years, we’re looking forward to trips to Florida, Colorado and more.
On weekdays, Theresa heads to work, and Larry gets the kids ready for the day. During the day, Larry takes care of the kids at home. Activities include movies, car rides, time in the park and backyard on the swing set and sometimes lunch at McDonald’s. After work and on the weekends, we’re busy with school activities, practices and visiting places made for kids, like the zoo, farms, playgrounds. We also like to take walks, go fishing and go on bike rides.

Final Thoughts
Shortly after we married in 2010, we began efforts to grow our family. Dealing with the challenges, disappointments and frustrations of infertility were certainly worth it as we have two wonderful sons.
We are hoping to add a daughter to our family who we can love, support and enjoy. We are excited to walk with you on this journey of adoption. What an adopted daughter will receive - a loving family that is encouraging, supportive and fun. She will have a childhood filled with wonderful memories that she will carry with her for a lifetime. In moments of challenge, we will be there to help her face obstacles and become a successful, healthy adult who has a strong sense of faith, family and happiness.
