melissa and justin
WE are melissa and justin.
We are a responsible, loving couple who enjoy road trips, family dinners, game nights and spending time with our daughter, Hattie! Our hearts are full, and we have so much love to share with you and your child. Our love for a baby we haven’t even met yet is something we all have in common. We’re sure you are thinking about your future and that of your baby, and want you to know we admire your love and courage in considering an adoption plan. We want to reassure you we will raise your child to never doubt your love—or ours.
“We know that ultimately, adoption comes from a place of love for your child.”
About us
We met in high school, spent many years as best friends, and realized we were in love with each other while on a beach in California. After a short stint of dating long distance, we settled into our hometown and were married in 2015. We’ve spent the past five years creating a home, making new friends, growing in our faith, and always taking time for each other.
Adoption has been on our hearts since we got married. We knew being able to have children biologically would be a struggle, and we are so grateful that adoption led us to our daughter, Hattie.
Meet BIG sister, hattie
Hattie is a sweet, silly two-year-old, who is full of so much love. She says “hi” to every animal she sees. She is gentle with her little cousin and generous with her kisses. She loves to go on walks, golf with her Papa, play with her baby dolls, color pictures with Mama, and build castles with Daddy. Hattie has brought more love and joy into our family than we could’ve ever imagined.

The people we love and our home and community
We are blessed to be surrounded by so many people who love us and who we consider family. Most of our family is in the Midwest where we live, but it spans from the West Coast (where some of our best friends live) to the Northeast (where Justin’s brother lives).
We spend as much time as possible with the people we love. We have Sunday night dinners with Melissa’s parents, take trips to visit our out-of-town family (including Hattie’s birth family!), and have dinner and play dates with our friends and their kids.
our home is one of our favorite places to be. It’s where we curl up with a cozy blanket for movie nights, celebrate holidays with our families, laugh with friends over dinner and board games, draw chalk rainbows on the driveway, play fetch with our dog in the backyard, and rock our daughter to sleep each night. Our home is where we love big and make memories.
Our house is nestled in the back of a quiet, family friendly neighborhood. There are family movie nights at the pool in the summer and a Christmas light contest during the holidays. Our neighborhood is minutes away from everything and located near some of the best schools in the area.
What we love to do for fun
our favorite thing to do is anything we can do together. We enjoy going on family walks around the neighborhood, exploring playgrounds around town, and weekends at home doing absolutely nothing but being together. Coloring at the kitchen table and movie nights on the couch are regular occurrences for us.
We are homebodies at heart who love the company of our family and friends. Game nights with friends are a long-standing tradition that is even more fun now that kids are running around. We love traveling to visit our family and friends who live out of town and experiencing their local favorites.
