JULIE and JOHN

Julie and John hoping to adopt a child.

DEAR FRIEND,

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about our family as you consider the difficult decision of who will parent your child.

We have always known we wanted to grow our family through adoption. Julie’s mom was adopted, and her adoption changed the course of her life and led to the family she has today, all because of the selfless choice her birth mom made all those years ago. Our desire for our current and future children is that they know the love of their parents and ultimately the love of Jesus in their lives. We have absolutely loved being parents and are excited by the chance to become parents again.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be part of your story and for considering being a part of ours. We respect you so much and want you to know we are praying for you and your child, and for strength and courage on your journey through this process.

About us

We were both born and raised in the Midwest. Julie grew up in the city and always dreamed of country life. John grew up on a farm and learned to work hard when he wasn’t attempting to ride the calves or take a ride down the roof of one of the animal sheds. He enjoys telling his mother all of the things she wasn’t aware of that make her shake her head now!

We met in 2012 at Starbucks and began dating soon thereafter. We both knew early on we wanted to spend our lives together. We were married in May of 2013 and have since had two children, Jack and Alex, who have brought adventure into our lives in more ways than we could have imagined. Each day, our home is filled with laughter and little feet running all around, figuring out what they will do next! They have been the greatest blessing in our lives and have taught us so much about the way God loves us and them. We can’t wait to have another child in our family to join in our crazy and fun adventure.

Meet the big brothers

JACK: Jack is five and has a wild imagination. He loves to teach his brother new words and phrases, and they can both make each other laugh wildly. He is very sweet to little ones and will make a great big brother for the second time.

ALEX: Alex is two and loves people. He’s always waving or saying hi to connect with them. He loves animals and “big trucks.” He is gentle and kind and will make a great big brother!

Our home and loved ones

We are blessed to have an amazing community of people in our lives. Our friends and family are thrilled we are adopting and can’t wait to meet the next child God brings into our family. We are fortunate to live in an area where there is a lot of diversity and many multi-racial and adoptive families. Our backyard is huge and the neighborhood kids can usually be found playing on the swing set or running around the yard together.

We’ve always loved having people in our home and are always looking for ways to celebrate or get together with our friends and family. It’s a place filled with lots of love and laughter and lots of ... forts!

We both grew up in large families. Julie has four sisters and one brother, and John has three sisters. Most of our siblings have kids and it’s always fun getting together to let the kids play or chase each other with water guns all around the backyard! We both had a strong bond with our siblings growing up and it’s so fun to see our kids together now. Most of our family is local so we get to see them often, and the boys are always excited to see whoever comes to visit or hang out. Each of us have a sibling out of state as well and we love to visit them and vacation with them at the same time!

What we love to do for fun!

One of our favorite things to do is travel and explore as a family. Our family is very active and we love finding places that we can run, play and get messy together. We usually end up around some type of water, where the world seems bigger and full of wonder. There is so much to see, touch and do with a lake, beach or the ocean nearby.

We also love wide, open spaces and running around in the fresh mountain air! Exploring nearby parks and taking a picnic along is a favorite family outing and the perfect end to a weeknight.

ONE LAST THANK YOU

OUR PROMISE is to provide a home with as much love and joy as we can offer. We will love your child unconditionally and they will always know where they came from. We will raise them with an understanding and appreciation for you and for the sacrificial love you showed for us and them.

We would love to stay in contact and give updates if that is something you desire. Above all else, we will love your child more than words can say and we will be praying for you on this journey.
