Jill and brady
HELLO! we are jill and brady.
about belonging: Jill’s great grandfather often said, “if they are important to you, they are welcome here.”.We are Cameron and Emily from Wichita, KS and we appreciate you taking the time to get to know us!
We want to welcome a child through adoption into a family in which the child knows, undoubtedly, they belong. As our family gathers for holidays, their grandparents will be waiting at the door excited for our child to be there. Their grandmother will ask our child to set out the cookies that they made a few days before. Their uncles will taste a cookie and tell our child that they did a great job. Their grandfather will help them count their presents under the tree. Our child will find their place at the dinner table and know that this is exactly where they belong.
About us
The most important thing to us is spending time together.
Whether this is traveling or quiet evenings at home, we have fun if we are together! One summer day, we decided to make a trip to a small town nearby. All around town, there were large wooden Dala horses, and the challenge was to find every statue. Brady drove and Jill operated the camera. We found them all, but they add more each year. Next time, we hope to have our child with us so they can be part of the adventure!
We met while attending graduate school and have been married for about 6 years. As a couple, we always felt adoption would be in our lives. After not being able to conceive naturally, it was the right choice for us to begin the adoption journey.
MEET OUR PUPs
We spend Saturday mornings cuddling with our dogs Luna, Lemmy, and Ruby. We love the feeling of the dogs’ soft fur and warmth as we unwind from the work week. Our dogs love to play outside. We imagine them running around our yard playing with our child on warm, sunny days. We hope our child adores animals as much as we do.
Meet our family!
In our families, time is one of the kindest gifts we give one another.
We often gather for celebrations or just to catch up with Jill’s family, and enjoy spending weekends with Brady’s family in his parents’ small town. Both families like to go on family trips together. Brady’s family goes on road trips where they pack snacks and spend hours in the car telling stories. Jill’s family likes to explore new cities and experience exciting sites. Everyone looks forward to sharing and making memories with our child.
OUR HOME
In the city of Wichita, KS, we live in a ranch style home on a corner lot with a large yard. We are eager to welcome a child into their own room on the main floor. As our child grows, we hope to build a swing set in the fenced in backyard.
Our city has a lot of restaurants, live sports, museums, family activities, libraries, and shops. Our neighborhood has playgrounds and common greenspace. We look forward to taking our child to each playground. Then, we will let our child decide which one is the most fun.
What we love to do for fun
Together, our favorite things include spending time with family and friends, traveling, our dogs, reading, and games. Jill loves to crochet and doing craft projects. Brady enjoys attending or watching sporting events, music, and barbecuing.
By Brady: On New Year’s Eve, our friends’ son asked Jill, “Can we play a game?” Her answer was, “of course!” I love to see how excited their son is every time he plays with Jill. As I watched them play Chutes and Ladders, I was reminded of many memories of our friends around a game table. Although we started game nights as college students, we have expanded those nights to include children as families grew. I know our child will fit right in around a game table with friends.
