Cole and David

Hello! We’re David and Cole, a happily married gay couple eagerly seeking to expand our family through adoption.

Our hearts are set on creating a nurturing home filled with love and support for a child to thrive in. Your consideration means a lot to us, and we’re genuinely looking forward to learning more about each other.

Thank you for considering us as potential parents!

We recognize the weight of this decision and sincerely appreciate your consideration in choosing us to adopt your child.

About us

We met on Bumble and quickly formed a bond. We discovered shared interests in art and family. When we finally met in person for a nature walk, it was awkward at first. However, our tension eased when a doe walked alongside us on the path for a long time. We later learned deer symbolize new beginnings. Now married, we enjoy cooking dinner together and spending time with our dogs. As artists, we share ideas and support each other’s work. Despite being a gay couple unable to have children biologically, we’re excited about the prospect of parenthood through adoption. We believe in providing a loving and safe home for a child who needs it.

OUR WORK: We work from home, providing flexibility in parenting. A graphic designer, David enjoys artistic freedom and plans paternity leave. A teacher and writer, Cole has co-authored two successful children’s graphic novels.

More About Us

David by cole

David is my biggest role model. He’s like a big, happy dog, always singing or humming, bringing light and joy into my life. His creativity knows no bounds—he effortlessly paints, draws, and crafts ideas for graphic novels and children’s books. He taught himself special effects makeup and made an intricate dinosaur costume for his nephew. I can’t wait to see the Halloween costumes he’ll create for our child one day. David’s fantastic with kids, especially older ones—he’s like a magnet for them, effortlessly entertaining them for hours. Most importantly, he’s incredibly kind and empathetic, never judgmental, always attentive and caring. David’s presence enriches my life in many ways, and I’m grateful to have him as a partner and friend.

Cole by David

From the first time I met Cole, I knew my life would be an adventure. He is super funny and creative and has a way with words that makes you want to love him. He taught me that every emotion matters and should be felt. He showed me that I’m worth fighting for. He is bold, determined, and caring. He is also so thoughtful and takes his time thinking about the perfect gift to give. When he spends time with his nieces and nephews, you can see that they matter to him and that they love him. He made our house a home and continues to do so. The stories he has written are my favorites, and I can spend hours listening to him talk about a book idea.

Our loved ones

Both of us hail from tight-knit families. David’s large family, scattered across Kansas and Nebraska, gathers for holidays and birthdays. His twin brother and young nephew are close to us. Cole’s smaller family resides nearby, with his sister and mother living within a mile. His mother, retired, plans to provide daycare for our child. Cole’s niece and her child live nearby on a farm, hosting gatherings like Easter egg hunts. Our children can explore the farm and cherish these experiences. We value friendships highly, attending David’s best friend’s theater performances and visiting Cole’s childhood friends across the country.

our home

We settled in Cole’s hometown to begin a family. Small-town life offers safety and community, with proximity to Wichita for convenience. Our children will enjoy similar childhood joys: biking, playing with neighbors, and local events. We love being near family, with Cole’s mother and sister close. Our house with a spacious yard is perfect for raising a child. We cherish the small-town camaraderie and knowing many neighbors. Annual events like the fall festival make living here unique. Our children will attend Cole’s old school, appreciating its intimate size and diverse activities.

What we love to do for fun

David draws avidly, creating characters and designs. He even designed a special deck of cards for our wedding invites. Cole collects comic books. We share a love for reading and passing books between us. We’re excited to read to our future children. We enjoy planning events like our annual Halloween party, with Cole handling food and entertainment, and David decorations. Holidays are special, from Christmas lights to Halloween house tours, which we cherish with the babies in our lives. Travel is a priority — New Orleans last Christmas, Ireland next. We work out daily and plan to learn rock climbing. We like making healthy dinners, but we also indulge in pizza and ice cream.

Final Thoughts

Thoughts on parenting • Parenting is a transformative journey we eagerly anticipate. Watching our loved ones navigate parenthood has deepened our longing for it. We look forward to creating routines and nurturing our child’s passions. Sharing this experience with our village of family and friends holds special significance. We’re excited to join in family traditions and foster a loving environment for our children.

Our Values • We prioritize teaching our children self-acceptance and embracing their emotions, fostering confidence in their identity. As a gay couple, we value  and celebrate diversity, aiming to instill these values in our children, especially if we adopt.

Thank you • We would be grateful for the opportunity to get to know us better and vice versa. It’s important for us to emphasize that any child we adopt will simply be our child, and not just our “adopted child.” We can assure you that any children we bring into our lives will have a deep well of love, nurturing, and community.
