Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about us.

We are Grant and Amy and we are excited at the opportunity to share a little bit about ourselves with you. We cannot begin to imagine how difficult taking this path might be for you, and we can only hope that our letter might provide some encouragement and hope.

It is our prayer that should you choose to get to know us; it will result in a lifelong answer to prayers for all of us.

About us

Our relationship started through a mutual friend when Amy was still in college. It was love at first sight and we married 3 ½ years later. We’ve been married for 10 years. We always dreamed of having a large family and immediately started trying. Unfortunately, we were told by our physician that we will never be able to have children naturally. Of course this was devastating news for us, but we immediately knew that this happened to us because God had bigger plans for us.

God blessed us with our first child through adoption in 2012 and our second child in 2015. Cole and Luke mean everything to us. Though they are little and may not always understand, we talk frequently about adoption and how lucky we are.

Meet Our boys

Cole

Cole blessed our family through adoption in 2012 as a newborn. He is a very active boy. He loves all sports, he is very competitive and is so much fun to watch. When he is not playing sports he likes to ride his bike and go swimming. He is very hopeful to have a new baby brother or sister.

Luke

Luke also joined our family through adoption as a newborn in 2015. He is the sweetest little boy ever. He loves helping mommy with any task around the house. He loves going to the farm with Grant and likes to try to keep up with big brother. He gets excited talking about having a baby and says he wants to help feed him/her.

The people we love and our home and community

We have a very large, supportive family. Amy’s parents live an hour away from us, but come visit often and watch the boys for a day. Amy has three older brothers, all of which live out of state. We all get together at least two times every year, and Cole very much enjoys spending time with his seven cousins.

We live in a wonderful rural community. Population, 1,500. It is the perfect, quiet location to raise children. The best part of where we live is the large population of family in our community. We live in the town Grant grew up, and the majority of his family has stayed in the community. There is not a day that goes by that we do not see a family member, whether it be in the grocery store, the gas station, or just driving down the road.

Our family has been built on a very solid foundation, one that was taught to us by our parents.

What we love to do for fun

Traveling is one of our favorite things to do together. This year we had the opportunity to take multiple trips with our families. We went site seeing in San Francisco, the beach in Alabama, and multiple lake trips. We are always on the go with the boys and we love it. In Amy’s free time, she enjoys shopping, scrapbooking and decorating the house. Grant has fun riding his 4 wheeler with his brothers and teaching the boys how to play sports.

In Closing

Family is the most important thing to both of us. We both come from large families and together they make an amazing support system; both families are so excited about us continuing our journey with adoption. We are excited to be able to raise children in the loving environment that we were raised in. We believe that the values our parents have instilled in us have led us to be wonderful parents. Thank you for taking the time to read about us, we wish you the best of luck in your decision.
