Hello! We are abby and brant from kansas city.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know more about us. The decisions that lay ahead for you are not easy ones and we pray that you are filled with peace as you plan for your future and your baby’s future. We are amazed at the depth of your love for your child and can’t imagine the emotions you are experiencing throughout this journey. We were blessed by adoption with the addition of our daughter Kaylee in September 2019. She is excited to be a big sister, and we are excited to add another bundle of joy to our family! 

About us

We met at church as Freshmen in High School. Abby quickly became best friends with Brant’s younger sister, and this led to us becoming good friends as well. We started dating at the beginning of our senior year in high school and have been together ever since. 

After several years of long distance dating while Abby finished her college degree, we were married in September 2013. 

our thoughts on adoption and raising a child: We are filled with excitement to share our lives, hearts and home with another little one. We look forward to nurturing, loving and laughing with them as they grow to become the unique person God designed them to be. Our family strives to create an environment where everyone feels loved, welcome and accepted. We hope to raise our children to be compassionate, strong and hard-working adults.

meet the big sister!

Kaylee is such a joy to our family. We love her big personality. She is quick to bring smiles to those she meets with her friendly chatter. Kaylee loves playing outside, exploring bugs, creatures  and jumping in puddles. She also enjoys dressing up, painting and reading books. She is so sweet to her baby cousins and loves to make them laugh. We are excited to watch her grow as a big sister.

Our home

We live about 20 minutes from downtown Kansas City in a small suburb on the Missouri side. We have lived in our home for 8 years. Our favorite part about our home is the huge back yard. It is Kaylee’s favorite place to be when we are home. We have a large sandbox, swing set and many fun things to play with outside. We live just a mile away from Abby’s parents and with Brant’s parents living a short 15 minute drive away. We live within walking distance of a park. On nice weather days we often walk to the park near our house. We live short drives from several different local parks with nice walking trails and playgrounds. 

OUR loved ones

We are so thankful for the village we have of family and friends. We have several close friends who have recently become parents, so it has been fun to get together with all of our kids. Both of our parents are active parts of our life and have loved getting to be grandparents to Kaylee. They love to pick her up for playdates at their houses. Kaylee gives them the biggest smiles and hugs when she sees them. We are also close to both of our siblings. Brant’s sister loves joining us on fun adventures around the city. We get together with Abby’s brother and our nephew at least once a week. We are so thankful Kaylee has a cousin just a few months younger than her.

What we love to do for fun

We are both avid readers, which is one of the things that drew us together when we first started dating. We love to play board games and often host game nights with friends and family and we look forward to future game nights with our children. We both grew up in the outdoors, fishing and spending time camping or at the lake with our families. It has been so fun sharing these favorite places and activities with Kaylee.

We love exploring the fun family places Kansas City has to offer. We have memberships to the local zoo, and children’s museum. We try to spend as much time outside as possible with Kaylee. She loves getting to play outside on the slide, run around the yard with our dog and explore the local trails and parks in our area.
